We are excited to announce that Houston Haven and Suites of Hope have joined forces and will officially be merging and operating as one organization under the Houston Haven name and Board of Directors. The mission of both organizations will continue as they together serve families from all over the United States who come to the Texas Medical Center for cancer treatments by providing low-cost housing.
Houston Haven was founded in 2018 and has served 11 families through their two properties. Since 2011, Suites of Hope has partnered with MD Anderson and specifically their breast cancer clinical trial social workers to provide housing to over 75 guests in four condos located within a mile of the Medical Center. Both organizations emphasize creating a calming “home away from home” with personal connections for every guest who stays with them. The missions of these two great organizations are very closely aligned and will make them a great partnership.
Houston Haven has taken over the operations of Suites of Hope and over the next six months will work to integrate their operations and best practices, while continuing to serve guests coming to Houston for cancer treatments.
We are thankful for all of our partners and volunteers who allow us to make the process for our families a little easier, as we step in to provide for their physical, emotional, and spiritual needs. We look forward to continuing to serve together for years to come.
